Pacific Coastal Airlines has a full time permanent opportunity for a Marketing Manager to join our team at YVR's South Terminal in Richmond. This newly created role reports to the Vice President, Commercial Services and is responsible for providing outstanding service to our employees and customers. The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing the marketing strategy to achieve increased revenue results through new customer acquisition and increased sales across various commercial product channels. 

Working closely with the Revenue Management, Business Development and Product Development teams within the Commercial Services Department, the Marketing Manager will prepare various marketing campaigns to promote our core commercial products: (1) commercial schedule, (2) ancillary revenue products, (3) various sales programs (i.e. QuikPass, BCAA, ISIC Student, Groups, etc.), (4) charters and (5) cargo. The position will also be responsible for establishing and managing our yearly evergreen campaigns with the intent to increase brand awareness for Pacific Coastal Airlines.

Primarily focused on marketing B2C, the position will also support marketing to B2B to bring awareness to the influential travel trade community about our products and service. This includes closely working with tourism organizations on cooperative campaigns, cobranding, and managing fam-trips and influencer travel.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Oversight of all marketing communications (primarily B2C) that have the intent of promoting our core products to increase revenue. Working closely with Revenue Management and Product Development, this position will focus on bringing awareness to important changes in our schedule (i.e. new routes, increased service, etc.) and new products that we take to market;
  • Accountable for the development, management and control of yearly marketing budget, seeking to deliver maximum efficiency from the budget;
  • Develop, budget, control and execute all aspects of multiple campaigns. Ensure detailed tracking and reporting of performance for all campaigns;
  • Manage all large-scale sponsorships (i.e. athletes, sports teams, WHL, BCHL, etc.);
  • Ensure our largest revenue gateway remains operational, stable, secure and updated. Apply continuous improvement to our website by delivering an improved experience for customers based on website data and analytics;
  • Ensure promotional efforts utilize emerging and contemporary digital marketing channels. Introduce new marketing automation to create dynamic and personalized campaign for customers;
  • Establish and maintain various tourism relationships to become the preferred airline transportation provider. Collaborate and deliver high preforming cobranded campaign partnerships;
  • Develop a consistent FAM and Influencer travel program to support key tourism partnerships (this includes exchange of seats in return for television programs);
  • Oversee Pacific Coastal's Community Support Program and bring awareness to the various charitable acts and organizations that we support;
  • Manage the procurement and inventory control of promotional swag;
  • Through effective marketing communication of our products, service and brand, support the commercial goal of driving increased revenue results;
  • Responsible for the supervision, coaching, development, and ultimately performance of all direct reports. Establish individual leadership development plans for each employee. Conduct periodic and annual performance evaluations for all direct reports;
  • Understand, embrace and apply the Pacific Coastal Airlines Corporate Values daily;
  • Actively participate in Pacific Coastal Airlines' Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operation and comply and promote the company safety policy and safety culture;
  • Complete other assignment and tasks as assigned

Qualifications: 

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Marketing or suitable combination of education and experience is considered an asset
  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in Marketing or related experience
  • Proven experience managing employees and budgets
  • Analytical, with strong problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Strong understanding of best practice for various marketing channels

  • Intermediate proficiency MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
