Pacific Coastal Airlines (PCA) is looking for a Component Shop Engineer! This position is based out of a hanger located near South Terminal at the Vancouver International Airport in Richmond.
The Maintenance Department at PCA fosters a team environment. The broad scope of maintenance that PCA carry out provide team members with a complete experience with line maintenance, heavy maintenance, troubleshooting and major component changes in both M1 and M2 aircrafts. What You Will Do:
- Responsible for component repair and maintenance for the Pacific Coastal Airlines fleet as directed by the Component Shop Controller
- Responsible for the repair and maintenance, but not overhaul of, Pratt and Whitney PT6 engines, GE CT7 engines, Hartzell, Hamilton and Dowty propellers as operated by Pacific Coastal Airlines as permitted by the AMO certificate and manufacturers maintenance manuals
- Review engine borescope reports and monitor trends of all engines in Company fleet
- Organize and maintain a clean shop and hangar space in designated work area
- Assist with maintenance of Company aircrafts
- Carry out on-wing preventative maintenance of propellers
- Back-fill wheel and brake shop during times of high demand and vacation
- Ensure components on the Troubleshooting shelf are sent for repair or returned to stock
- Assist the Component Shop Controller in maintaining control over all major components
- Ensure the Maintenance Department has appropriate spares to meet current and future needs of the department
- Assist stores department in receiving and inspections of major components
- Other duties as directed by Supervisors
Technical Requirements:
- Possess a valid Transport Canada AME license - category M1 and/or M2 or experience as a Gas Turbine Technician
- Obtain and maintain the Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) and the Airside Vehicle Operator's Permit (AVOP)
- Adhere to the highest level of safety standards by following and executing procedures
- Utilize knowledge to identify and prioritize operational needs
- Ensure punctuality of proper paperwork submissions (all certifications and re-certifications recorded prior to releasing aircraft into service)
- Stay current on Company Maintenance Control Manuals and other industry related manuals/materials
- Previous experience working in an engine shop or specifically on Pratt and Whitney PT6 or GE CT-7 engines an asset
Other Qualifications:
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Flexibility to work weekends, nights and holiday on shift rotations
- Willing to travel as required to service all aircrafts in our fleet
- Lift up to 50lbs and stand for long periods at a time
- Able to work in various weather conditions and elevated noise levels
