Pacific Coastal Airlines is seeking a permanent full-time Manager, Network Ramp Operations to oversee the company's ramp operations. This position is based out of the South Terminal building at the Vancouver International Airport in Richmond.

Reporting to the Director, Airports, the Manager, Network Ramp Operations is responsible for strategic leadership and operational control of the company's ramp operations at all bases. This individual has direct oversight of YVR-based Ramp Agents, Ground Service Equipment Mechanics, Shuttle Bus Drivers and provides support and guidance to Ramp Agents and Supervisors at outer bases.

The ideal candidate has three or more years of experience in an Airport Operations leadership position within the aviation industry. Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills are required for success in this role. We are seeking a professional and driven individual who will lead the department to operational excellence through continuous improvement.


  • Ensure all ramp operations are conducted in a structured, organized, efficient fashion, without sacrificing public safety and/ or quality standards.
  • Establish and uphold safety and operational standards to ensure that all practices meet or exceed regulatory requirements.
  • Provide strategic leadership, training oversight and performance management to all company Ramp Agents, ensuring adequate scheduling and staffing.
  • Establish and review practices that support an on-time performance.
  • Maintain and develop company Ramp Operations Manual.
  • Manage and maintain third party ground handling agreements.
  • Ensure safety investigations are conducted and resolved in the prescribed timeframe.
  • Implement corrective action plans and conduct risk assessments.
  • Create and manage annual ramp budgets.
  • Foster and maintain a departmental culture that is respectful, supportive and engaging consistent with the Company's Vision and Values.
  • Challenge the department's capacity by establishing and achieving annual goals and objectives.
  • Employ industry best practices in order to maximize efficiency and to uphold and advance the Company's competitive position with respect to ground handling practices.


Education & Experience

  • Post-secondary education in business, logistics, or airport operations or related field.
  • A minimum 3 years of related supervisory and management experience within the aviation industry, preferably in a ramp operations leadership role.
  • Training and experience in deicing operations.
  • Valid Class 4 BC Driver's license, or ability to obtain
  • Must be able to obtain an Airside Vehicle Operators Permit and a Forklift Operators Permit

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and legislation such as CARs, Canada Labour Code, etc. as well as how regulatory bodies operate and interrelate
  • Proven supervisory and leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Planning, forecasting, goal setting, budgeting and financial analysis skills
  • Ability to support, coach, mentor, develop, and inspire others
  • Intermediate technical skills in Microsoft Office
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
